Carlos Davila, age 21 of New London County was arrested on Wednesday, May 15 for the Montville incident, which occurred in 2021, Connecticut State Police announced.
According to his arrest warrant, Davila (who was 19 at the time) met with two 14-year-old girls near Oakville Elementary School on July 9, 2021.
He had met one of the two girls on Instagram, where he reportedly asked her for explicit pictures, which she did not send. Davila then asked the girl to meet him at the school.
When he pulled up to the school, police said Davila offered the girls marijuana and began following them in the woods, asking them which of them would have sex with him first.
As one of the girls turned around to walk away, Davila allegedly grabbed the other by the shoulders, pushing her down to her knee before exposing his penis.
The two girls were able to run away and police were alerted of the interaction the next day.
Following an investigation, a warrant for Davila’s arrest was granted; he subsequently fled the state, police said.
He was located years later after being arrested and sentenced in Massachusetts on unrelated charges.
Davila was extradited and charged with the following:
- Criminal attempt to commit sexual assault; and
- Risk of injury to a minor, two counts.
Unable to post bond, he was moved to Corrigan Correctional Center and faced his arraignment at Norwich Superior Courthouse on Thursday, May 16.
